OVERVIEW
Welcome to Fancy Find, a website/blog run by Amy Uhrich (me). Fancy Find is an exercise in aesthetics (the study of what is beautiful, or what beauty is), happiness (an attempt at optimism and focus on wonder) and egocentrism (truthfully, this website is all about me. Me. ME). Fancy Find is my venue for sharing art, fashion, literature, music, opinions, and other things I find particularly appealing (and occasionally, some of my own creations as well). My goal is to create a unique and delicious aesthetic; to define, discover, rediscover, and relay beauty; to live magically and highlight the wonder in life.
POSTS
Toybox: As a harkening back to childlike wonder, Toybox posts will consist of a handful of entertaining items collected from around the web for your fun and frivolous viewing pleasure. Each week I will try to include music/video, literature, photography, cool links, and various other little playthings/mementos.
Wardrobe Wednesdays: In keeping with the street fashion aesthetic and blogging trend, narcissism, and my warped sense of self-expression, Wednesdays will be reserved for posting various personal outfit photos/shoots, as well as recent fashion finds and purchases. Flair will be had. Disdain for my style is optional.
Features: Feature posts (duh). I may highlight an artist, author/poet, photographer, blogger, website, boutique, designer, musician, idea, et cetera (or a specific collection, compilation, or series from any of the above)–and pimp said entity’s content like it’s my job. Wait…
Sundry: Surprise! I can post whatever I want! It could be a personal reflection, a prize giveaway, or something else I want to share that didn’t fit anywhere else, or revealed itself at the last minute and was just too spectacular to pass up. Or, it could be a meditation on cucumbers. You’ll really only know if you tune in.
And that’s it! There may be a few errant posts here and there (I can’t predict the future…or can I?), and it’s possible there will be times my posts are a bit late. But I’ll make every effort, I promise.
COMMENTS
Comments are a place for readers to have fun and connect with me, the content, and each other, so please don’t be shy! I will attempt to respond to all post comments. I encourage readers to be open and honest in comments and discussion, but please remember to keep it clean–malicious or otherwise unpleasant comments will be deleted.

yyellowbird posted a photo:should i do a 365 thing, guys?i've kindof been thinking about it lately, but i have some reservations. i already have well over 365 pictures of myself, so i'm not sure what i'd need more for, so i'm just thinking about it, and i'd like your opinions, if you have any.i'm not sure i'd have the time to keep up with it, but i'm looking for something to challenge myself with this year. i know taking self-portraits isn't that hard for me, so i'm wondering if there's a way i could make it more interesting. i could do 365 pictures of not-myself, but i'm sure a lot of these will be done in my house when i get home from school/work late at night, so taking pictures of objects around my house might get old. plus, there's usually more options for pictures with people in them.or i could do 365 not-photoshopped pictures, but i <3 photoshop lots and i don't feel like it's that much of a crutch for me (though i assume lots of people might think otherwise). plus the whole bragging about "sooc" is kindof lame, ngl.i could also try to write a small something to go along with each picture.so i don't know.also, where would i post them? on this flickr, i imagine, but then where would i post pictures that were not-365 related? i know it's generally better to post as little as possible each day and not bombard flickr, but that's difficult enough for me as it is. i could make another flickr for a 365, i guess.so, yeah, what do you guys think (assuming anyone cares)? any ideas to how i could liven up a 365 project? how do you guys approach it, if you do at all? what are your reasons for doing it? do you think it's kindof a boring/generic thing to do? if i were to do one, do you think i should post it here, or make a new, 365-exclusive flickr/tumblr/something else? i would like to know your thoughts on anything, if you wouldn't mind telling me. :](for the record this picture is a few weeks old, not the beginning of a 365.)](http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4004/4344568559_13909b8ca6_s.jpg)
